"It seems to me that all good Americans interested in the growth of their country and sensitive to its honor, should give hearty support to the policies which the Navy League is founded to further.
For the building and maintaining in proper shape of the American Navy, we must rely on nothing but the broad and farsighted patriotism of our people as a whole." - Theodore Roosevelt

SUPPORTING YOUTH

THROUGH ROTC PROGRAMS
Our Council is a staunch supporter of ROTC and Jr.ROTC programs that develop future military leaders who fight for our freedoms.
-
Junior ROTC:
The San Diego Council supports one ROTC and five Junior ROTC programs for at least $3,000 per year for a total of $11,000 per year. We also support with
additional dollars any special trips or operation support to send students to special competition or exercises in summer. We also provide annual awards at the graduations for these
units plus for the Army/Navy Academy in Carlsbad.
-
ROTC Awards:
Our Council also provides the outstanding graduate of both Navy and Marine Corps ROTC with engraved dress sword and scabbard each year for presentation at formal
awards program for each university.
THROUGH SCHOLARSHIPS
The San Diego Council administers the Alexander Kreiglowa Navy and Marine Corps Dependents Education Foundation.
These scholarship funds come from a charitable donation of property from Chief Alexander Kreiglowa, USN (Ret). His gift helped to establish an endowment that will help students for many
years to come.
